Rikard Lindgren is a professor of Informatics at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden and guest professor at the University of Borås, Sweden. He is also research director and co-founder of Swedish Center for Digital Innovation. His research interests include action research, design science, digital platforms, IT innovation, and technology standards. His research has been published in European Journal of Information Systems, Information and Organization, Information Systems Journal, Journal of Information Technology, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, MIS Quarterly, Research Policy, Sloan Management Review, and other outlets. In 2003, he was awarded the OR Society’s Stafford Beer Medal for the best paper published in European Journal of Information Systems and Knowledge Management Research and Practice. In 2017, he was awarded the runner-up European Research Paper of the year. Professor Lindgren currently serves on the editorial boards of Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, and the advisory board of Scandinavian Journal of Information Systems. Previously, he has served as an associate editor of Information Systems Research and MIS Quarterly, associate/senior editor of Information Systems Journal, and editor-in-chief of Scandinavian Journal of Information Systems. In 2011, he was awarded the Best Associate Editor of Information Systems Research. On a regular basis, he has served as track chair for international conferences such as European Conference on Information Systems and International Conference on Information Systems, and in 2019 he served as co-chair for the Doctoral Consortium of European Conference on Information Systems. He has served as supervisor for eight PhD students and received 49 million SEK of funding for his research.
