Dr. Zhang received her Ph.D. from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong. Her research focuses on the impact of information technology on people’s social activities and consumption behaviors. Examples of topics investigated are: how citizens leverage microblogs to express opinions on social affairs and influence policy-making, how relationships can be cultivated on a social media platform to support collective action for sustainable food, and how interface layouts influence user contributions in social commerce. Dr. Zhang adopts mainly quantitative research methodology, such as field data analysis, survey, and experiment. She has published in major IS conferences such as ICIS, ECIS, PACIS, and AMCIS, and had served as associate editor for ICIS and program committee member for PACIS.
